My story: Joginder Singh 1972-1978
Joined Agricultural Research Service of ICAR in 1978 as a Scientist. Engaged in potato research throughout my professional career that continues till today. Worked in Pune, Gujarat, Shimla and Jalandhar. Developed a heat tolerant potato variety and got national award for it. Got married in 1980, have one daughter and one son. Built a house in Shimla. Completed Ph. D from HP University Shimla in 1999. Worked in Deep’s lab in Montréal during 1996-97 for my Ph.D research. Retired in Feb 2017 as Head, Central Potato Research Station, Jalandhar. After retirement founded a company, JPG Biotech that produces potato seed minitubers through Aeroponics. Consultant with International Potato Centre since Nov 2019. Interested in reading, travelling and trekking.

Joginder: China is the largest producer and consumer of potatoes, producing more than 100 million tonnes annually. May be they have some secret potato recipes not yet shared with the outside world!!!
